AIDILFITRI YDP MDHS SPEECH

AIDILFITRI YDP MDHS SPEECH

Alhamdulillah, thanks to Allah SAW for His abundance and grace we are still allowed to celebrate Aidilfitri in 2021 even though this year is also the second year we are celebrating in the country in the face of the spread of COVID-19.

In the excitement of preparations to welcome Aildifitri this year, of course many were disappointed when the government implemented the Movement Control Order (MCO) throughout the state from 12 May to 7 June 2021.

However, as Muslims, the celebration of Aidilfitri will still be celebrated as a sign of victory after a month in the madrasah of Ramadan.

I'm sure and sure that all parties miss the atmosphere of Aidilfitri which is usually celebrated with joy and the practice of visiting relatives' houses while enjoying kuih raya and favorite dishes. Not forgetting those who are abroad who definitely want to return to their hometown to see their father and mother who have been left behind for months.

However, we have to sacrifice feelings for a while for the sake of national security. We should all adopt new norms including on the most important day for Muslims which is Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Make the most of the technology and media available this festive season by communicating with parents, siblings, relatives and close friends to replace the practice of pilgrimage that is usually done on holidays.

Practice physical distancing, use a face mask, wash your hands and maintain personal hygiene. May this holiday be celebrated with joy and happiness. Stay safe no matter where you are.

At the Local Authority level, we had to comply with several decisions made at the federal and state levels between the safety of the population and the continuation of economic activities that have an impact on the population of this district.

However, I believe that this Movement Control Order (MCO) can have a positive impact on all of us in an effort to level the statistics of the number of COVID-19 cases, especially the cases in the State of Selangor.

Taking this opportunity, I would like to wish all the people who are Muslims, especially the residents of the Hulu Selangor District, a Happy Eid.

Not to be forgotten is the high appreciation for the frontline officers who have worked tirelessly and sacrificed their whole lives in fighting and ensuring that the country is safe and free from the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

Welcome this Aidilfitri with full conviction and joy and always follow the guidelines that have been set.

"Happy Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Sorry Zahir and Batin"

Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Mohamed Ali,
Chairman of the Hulu Selangor District Council,
12 May 2021/ 30 Ramadhan 1442 Hijrah
