INDIVIDUALS DISPOSING ILLEGAL GARBAGE IN COMMERCIAL PLACES DETECTED
MDHS detected several individuals who were found to have committed the offense of illegally dumping garbage around Bukit Sentosa square. Several photos and video recordings of the activity were successfully recorded by members of the public and the council will conduct an investigation until the culprits are caught.ÂÂ
This kind of irresponsibility has caused Hulu Selangor to be unable to maintain cleanliness in commercial areas, even though solid waste collection and road sweeping work is carried out every day.ÂÂ
The irresponsible act of throwing garbage from vehicles in unauthorized places often creates a nuisance of smell and sight so that the surrounding residents have to complain because of discomfort.ÂÂ
MDHS President, Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Mohamed Ali said that the Hulu Selangor District Council does not hesitate to take strict action against those who throw rubbish in unauthorized places.
According to the Garbage Collection, Disposal and Disposal of Garbage (MDHS) Act 2007, no one is allowed to throw any kind of garbage in any public place or any place not designated by the Council as a place to dispose of garbage.ÂÂ
He said, offenders can be fined if convicted not exceeding RM2000 or imprisoned for a period not exceeding 1 year, or both. And this offense can be compounded with an amount not exceeding RM1000.
"The public is advised to take care and maintain cleanliness in addition to working together to distribute information so that illegal dumping activities can be curbed." he said again.ÂÂ
To anyone who sees this happening, please report to the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Department (JPSPPA) MDHS at 03-60641050 or email toÂÂ
