In conjunction with World Rivers Day, the Department of Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning (JPSPPA) has implemented the Sayangi Sungai - River Our Water Supply (ROWS) Campaign Program on 17 September 2022 in collaboration with Zone 9 Councilor Puan Saripah binti Bakar and the Village Community Management Council ( MPKK) in the picnic area of ​​Alor Lempah, Ampang Pecah, Kuala Kubu Bharu.
The program activity carried out is _plogging_ (pick up your trash and take it home) where people will be given a _biodegradable_ plastic bag to collect trash in the surrounding area and will receive a prize. In addition, visitors will answer quiz questions (kahoot) related to the environment in addition to being able to test the level of environmental awareness among individuals.
This program is implemented to foster the spirit and awareness of the public to ensure that our environment is preserved and taken care of so as not to have a negative impact on the flora and fauna.
To begin with, a total of 30 people have been involved with 15 kilograms of garbage successfully collected this morning. In relation to that, the MPHS hopes that this program will be well received and have an impact on the environment in addition to fostering environmental awareness among the public so that they are more aware of protecting the environment.
