MDHS CONTINUES RAMADHAN PILGRIMAGE PROGRAM
In conjunction with welcoming the upcoming month of Ramadan, the Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) held a Ramadan Pilgrimage Program on 10 April 2021 to welcome and deliver donations to the underprivileged in the Hulu Selangor District area.
A total of 20 staff members and 25 MDHS council members including the MDHS Chairman and Hulu Selangor District Elders (OBD) were involved in making the program a success this time which is now in its 11th year of organization since 2010.
In this program, MDHS has delivered donations in the form of kitchen essentials such as rice, sugar, cooking oil, canned milk, sardines, milo, vermicelli, eggs, soy sauce and dates.
YDP MDHS, Dr. Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali said there were a total of 422 beneficiaries in the program this time which covered 23 zones in Hulu Selangor District. Among the groups selected to receive donations this time are the poor, single mothers, the elderly and the disabled (OKU).
According to him, in facing the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic that is hitting the country now, there are many people out there whose income has been affected and some have even lost their livelihood. The donation given to some extent can give joy to this group to celebrate the arrival of the month of Ramadan as well as reduce the burden in managing their expenses.
It is hoped that this program will be able to form a close cooperation between the community and the local authorities (PBT) in implementing 'amar maaruf, nahi mungkar', he said again.
