The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) in collaboration with the Public Works Department (JKR) of Hulu Selangor and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) of Hulu Selangor have carried out an integrated operation on companies that carry out rope swing extreme sports activities located in Kuala Kubu Bharu on 24 June 2022.
When arriving at the location, the operatives found that there was no rope swing activity and that there was a cabin and some rope swing equipment on the Pertak bridge which covered part of the road.
The manager of the company was also present during the operation and was informed of the offense committed. The company agrees and will stop operations until all conditions are met.
The operation is carried out when the council receives a complaint about the sports activities that are still operating despite still not getting permission from any relevant agency.
MPHS President, Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said, until now there has been no approval issued by JKR Hulu Selangor for the use of the relevant bridge to carry out ropeswing activities.
The MPHS has also never issued any permission or license approval to operate. However, the Council suggested to the operator to obtain permission to carry out activities from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and some other conditions that need to be followed in order to allow the sports activities to be carried out, he added.
