The Hulu Selangor District Council today hosted the Kita to Kampung Edisi Kraf Program and the Selangor Beat Tour with the Media. Despite facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the last series of this tour which took place for 2 days from 6 to 7 March 2021 at the Hulu Selangor District Tourism Information Center proceeded successfully with compliance with the SOP and new norms.
The program which has the full cooperation of the Hulu Selangor District Council is an initiative of the Selangor State Government under the Chairman of the Selangor State Standing Committee for Rural Development and Culture coordinated by the Sectoral Section, Selangor State Economic Planning Unit and implemented by the Selangor State Culture Council with the involvement of the media aiming to dignify state arts and culture programs on the international stage through digital new media and print media. Indirectly, a program like this can help art activists to continue with a career in art and culture in addition to venturing into other business fields. Special craft promotions are also implemented for the same purpose.
Apart from that, this program also aims to find craft and cultural arts performers around villages in the Hulu Selangor District to help regenerate the economy of those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic through the approach and marketing of print media and electronic media.
This program was attended by the Honorable Tuan Borhan bin Aman Shah, Exco for Rural Development and Culture of the State of Selangor who came down to greet the arts and culture activists in this district. Also present and welcoming his presence is Tuan Dr. Mohd Azhar Bin Mohamed Ali, Chairman of the Hulu Selangor District Council.
The three main products of Hulu Selangor involved, which are Batik Craft, Waste Material Craft and Recycled Music, were introduced for this tour series. The Hulu Selangor District Council through the Hulu Selangor District Tourism Information Center always provides support to arts and culture activists in this district.
