The Appointment and Swearing-in Ceremony of Councilors, Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) for the period 2021-2022 was held on 11 January 2021 at the Meeting Hall, MDHS.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in front of YBhg. Mr. Dr. Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali, President of MDHS. Also present at the ceremony was Awaluddin bin Zakaria, Secretary of MDHS, chief whips as well as directors and heads of MDHS Departments.
A total of 18 councilors were sworn in consisting of 11 re-appointments including District Elders and 7 new appointees. Appoint new councilors by the Selangor State Government to fill the vacancies left by the previous incumbents. Those newly appointed are:
1. Muhammad Dzul Hilmi bin Zainol (PKR)
2. Marina A/P Jeyaseelan (PKR)
3. Muhammad Syafiq b. Zazali (PKR)
4. Law Suet Peng (DAP)
5. Chinniah A/L Subramaniam (DAP)
6. Yong Chan Hee (DAP)
7. A. Durai Anbalagan A/L Ayya Kanama (AMANAH)
While the list of re-appointed members of the Council is:
1. YDM Raja Dato' Muzaffar bin Raja Redzwa (OBD)
2. Lee Meng Wai (PKR)
3. Kanagaraja A/L Allagasen (PKR)
4. Law Chun Yoong (PKR)
5. Arabiah binti Salleh (PKR)
6. Murali A/L Samee (DAP)
7. Saripah binti Bakar (DAP)
8. Tan Lai Zhen (DAP)
9. Husna binti Mohd Amran (Trust)
10. Rohani binti Yusof (Trust)
11. Abdul Mun'im bin Roslin (Trust) )
The new line-up of councilors for the 2021-2022 session consists of several compositions namely 1 Orang Besar Daerah, 7 People's Justice Party (PKR), 6 Democratic Action Party (DAP) and 4 National Trust Party (Amanah). This appointment is effective on January 1, 2021 until December 31, 2022.
Yang Dipertua MDHS said, "It is my great hope that the members of the Council for this new term will continue to excel and shoulder the responsibilities that have been entrusted with full commitment, responsibility, transparency and integrity. Forget disputes and political differences.
Thus, as part of the administrative component of the Local Authority (PBT), Council Members are also policy makers, playing a significant role in shaping the efficiency and transparency of service delivery to the people, he added.
As a Local Authority (PBT), no longer only functions as a service provider, but functions as a catalyst for local development that will ultimately determine the progress of the entire area. This is a great responsibility for us to carry out.
