HULU SELANGOR - The Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) established a strategic partnership with several private parties through the 'Jom Kongsi Rezeki' Food Bank Program to help 171 needy families around the district following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Through the program, MDHS together with MR. DIY Trading Sdn Bhd donates essential items such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, biscuits and many more to the recipients involved.
The Corporate Division of MDHS said in a statement that in addition to helping people in need, the implementation of the program is also in line with the focus on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDG 2030).
"This program is one of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the private sector to help those in need during these challenging times," he said on Saturday.
Through the same program, Kijang Gold Cooking Oil Company also took the same initiative by donating two liters of cooking oil for each family involved.
In the meantime, the Corporate Division of MDHS said, for now, a total of 63 donations have been delivered in three areas namely Bukit Beruntung, Bukit Sentosa and Rasa while the rest will be distributed in stages.
"MDHS hopes that other corporate companies can contribute to those in need through this program," he said.
