The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) is organizing the KKB International Paragliding Accuracy Open 2022 in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) and the Kuala Kubu Bharu Gliding Club to be held at Milenium Park on 16-18 September 2022.
This tournament is the second time it has been organized after 2019. A total of 75 participants have participated in this competition consisting of participants from 8 countries namely Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Spain, Germany, France and Malaysia. Of that number, 54 divers are from Malaysia and the rest are from overseas.
As for the competition category, there are 4 categories that are contested, namely overall, national, women and team. This event is a category Two (CAT 2) Paragliding Championship recognized by the World Air Sports Body. The results of the competition of the participants who entered this competition will be included in the world ranking.
The prize presentation was delivered by the Deputy Secretary General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Mohd Zamri bin Mat Zain together with MPHS President, Mohd. Hasry Nor Mohd. Also present were Motac Selangor Director, Syed Mohd Fariz Syed Mansor, , Motac Melaka Director, Yeow Chin Hai, , Motac Melaka Assistant Director, Laliy Khamsiah Harun, Dr. Khairul Hilmi A. Manap, Deputy Director of Tourims Malaysia Central Region, Orang Besar of the District, Raja Dato Muzaffar Raja Redzwa and several MPHS council members.
MPHS President, Mohd. Hasry Nor Mohd said, this organization is expected to make KKB an Air Sports Hub capable of receiving Paragliding pilots from home and abroad. Indirectly, it can also elevate this sports tournament as an annual event in the Tourism Calendar of the State of Selangor or Malaysia.
In addition, related agencies such as MOTAC are expected to continue to provide support to this program. The arrival of visitors or tourists will boost the tourism sector of the state of Selangor or especially Malaysia. MPHS will always give the best in every organized program.
