SELANGOR FRIENDLY GIFT PROGRAM WITH FOODBANK MALAYSIA FOUNDATION
The Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) has held a Selangor Friendly Gift Program Handing over Food Basket Aid to Taxi Drivers and School Bus Drivers which was held at the Mini Stadium Parking Area, Kuala Kubu Bharu on 26 April 2021.
This program is one of the Selangor State government's efforts to help those affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic. A total of 60 recipients were present consisting of rental car/taxi & school bus owners in Hulu Selangor to collect donations through drive-throughs.
The President of MDHS, Mr. Dr. Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali said that the concept of aid distributed was in the form of food baskets consisting of basic necessities worth RM100 each and the composition was determined based on findings from the census that had been made according to the type of goods in the set list.
For the implementation of immediate assistance through the Bingkisan Mesra Selangor Phase 1 program, the target group consists of taxi drivers and school bus drivers identified through a database registered by the Land Transport Agency (APAD) under the Malaysian Ministry of Transport.
The handover ceremony was personally delivered by the Honorable Mrs. Rodziah Binti Ismail, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Housing, Urban Wellbeing and Entrepreneur Development. Also present with Dr. Mohd Azhar bin Mohamed Ali, Chairman of the Hulu Selangor District Council, Raja Dato' Muzaffar bin Raja Redzwa, Chieftain of the Hulu Selangor District, Puan Normaliza Bt Md Rayis, Chief Assistant Director, Selangor Housing and Real Estate Management Services Division and WHIP Leaders .
