The Sultan's approval of Hulu Selangor is famous for the municipal council

SHAH ALAM, 21 OCT: The Hulu Selangor District Council (MDHS) will be known as the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) starting today.

The declaration was made by Dato' Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari to uphold the order of His Majesty the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah who approved the new status certificate.

Amirudin said the status upgrade would allow Hulu Selangor to receive more investment in addition to boosting the local tourism and manufacturing sectors.

He informed that the change will also have a positive impact on the local population towards a sustainable and resilient urban area.

"Hulu Selangor will be managed as a municipality with an equivalent delivery system in addition to the standards and efficiency that must match those standards.

"This new status also increases the hopes and expectations of various parties. All employees must deal with the upcoming challenges and mobilize efforts to strengthen the quality of services for the people," he said in conjunction with the declaration directly via MDHS Facebook.

Meanwhile, Yang Dipertua MPHS Mohd Hasry Nor Mohd said the success of years of hard work should be the pride of all the people because it is a benchmark for the development of the district involved.

"The entire population must share this sacred moment with pride and be engraved in the folds of history.

"However, there will definitely be challenges to be faced. Therefore, let us together renew our commitment to carry out continuous development," he said.

In the same ceremony, MPHS also launched a new logo and a song titled Hulu Selangor Terus Maju.
